Objectives:The primary objective of the GEF project is to address the conversion and land degradation of mangrove forests by shrimp agriculture in the East and South Asian Seas Region and subsequent impacts on biodiversity, fisheries production and coastal protection.
The project will achieve this objective by addressing the impediments to sustainability of this important economic activity at the international and national policy level and the individual farm level.
